About

As a mixed media painter with a background deeply rooted in art, graphic design, and art history, my creative journey is a dynamic exploration of two seemingly disparate yet inherently intertwined realms: the figurative and the abstract.

Having honed my artistic sensibilities through years of experience as an art director at prestigious institutions like Christie’s auction house and Assouline, I draw upon a rich tapestry of influences to inform my practice. Guided by a relentless passion for expression and a penchant for experimentation, I wield oil as my primary medium, alongside an eclectic array of materials including acrylics, metallic sprays, inks, crayons, and fragments of newspaper clippings.

In my figurative works, I delve fearlessly into the vibrant subculture of American punk and industrial music, as well as the streets of New York City. Informed by personal experiences and keen observations, I seek to capture the raw energy, rebellious spirit, and fierce individualism inherent in these movements. Through bold strokes and vivid colors, I aim to transport viewers into the heart of live performances, while simultaneously probing the underlying ethos of the subculture.

Conversely, my abstract pieces serve as a contemplative exploration of natural landscapes and the innate beauty of the world around us. Inspired by the ever-changing tapestry of nature, I adopt a fluid and intuitive approach, allowing the materials to guide my hand as I layer, blend, and manipulate them on the canvas. The result is a visual symphony of color, texture, and form, inviting viewers to lose themselves in the ethereal beauty of the natural world.

Yet, at the convergence of these divergent paths lies a common thread of expression and introspection. Whether navigating the world of punk culture or meditating on the serene tranquility of nature, my work is infused with a sense of curiosity, wonder, and reverence for the human experience. Through my art, I seek to provoke thought, evoke emotion, and inspire a deeper connection to both ourselves and the world around us.

Ultimately, my artistic practice is not merely about creating visually striking compositions, but rather about engaging in a dialogue with the viewer—a dialogue that transcends boundaries, sparks imagination, and fosters a profound appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the human condition.
